Learning how blood cancer patients do on standard treatment

This is a record-review study that looks at the medical histories of patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia (a blood cancer) who have been treated with imatinib or similar medications outside of formal research trials. Researchers at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center will gather information from your existing medical records—such as lab results, treatment dates, and side effects—to understand how well this medication works and how safe it is in everyday clinical practice.

While these medications have been studied in formal clinical trials, researchers want to understand how they perform when used in regular medical care for diverse groups of patients. This real-world information can help doctors improve treatment approaches and better support patients over time.
