Building a database to understand fatty liver disease

This is a registry study — essentially a research database — for people with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Researchers are gathering health information from patients at the Toronto General Hospital fatty liver clinic to better understand the disease, track how it changes over time, and identify patterns that could help with future treatment.

Fatty liver disease affects many people, but doctors still need to learn more about how the disease develops, which patients are at highest risk for complications, and what factors influence how it progresses. By collecting detailed information from many patients in one place, researchers hope to answer these questions and improve care.
