Tracking surgery and heated chemotherapy outcomes for abdominal cancer

This trial is observing patients who undergo a specific surgical procedure called cytoreductive surgery combined with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (heated chemotherapy delivered directly into the abdomen during surgery). The study will carefully monitor how the body responds during and after this complex procedure, tracking vital signs, blood changes, and other physical responses to help doctors better understand and improve care for patients with colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, or other cancers that have spread to the abdominal lining.

This combined surgery and chemotherapy treatment is promising but very demanding on the body — it involves significant blood loss, fluid shifts, and stress on multiple organ systems. By carefully documenting what happens to patients during and after this treatment, researchers hope to better understand the challenges doctors face and develop strategies to reduce complications and improve outcomes.
