Understanding heart artery blockages using imaging scans

This research study is examining how different types of imaging scans can help doctors better understand and predict the future course of coronary artery disease — a condition where the arteries that supply blood to your heart become narrowed or blocked. Researchers will use four different imaging technologies to look closely at blockages in your coronary arteries and track what happens to you over time. The goal is to learn which imaging methods are best at predicting which patients will have better or worse outcomes.

Currently, doctors have difficulty predicting which patients with heart artery blockages will do well and which patients may face serious complications. By comparing different imaging methods, this study aims to find the best way to identify which blockages are most dangerous and need urgent treatment.
