Testing a new diabetes care model to prevent complications

This trial is testing a new way to care for people with type 2 diabetes — called the Center of Comprehensive Care for the Patient with Diabetes (CAIPaDi) — where you see nine different specialists in a single day instead of visiting multiple clinics over time. The goal is to see if this integrated approach helps people manage their diabetes better, reach international treatment targets, and prevent serious long-term complications like heart disease and kidney damage.

Many people with type 2 diabetes in Mexico are not reaching their treatment goals, and serious complications develop at higher rates than in other countries. This trial exists to test whether coordinating care from multiple specialists in one place can improve how well diabetes is managed and reduce the chance of these complications.
