Ultrasound nerve treatment for knee arthritis pain relief

This trial is testing a procedure called ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency of the genicular nerves — a minimally invasive treatment that uses ultrasound imaging to guide a special needle to nerves around the knee and apply radiofrequency energy to reduce pain signals. The study is designed for people with chronic knee arthritis pain that hasn't responded well to medications, physical therapy, or injections. Half of the participants will receive the active treatment, while the other half will receive a sham (inactive) procedure to see if the real treatment truly works.

Knee arthritis is a major cause of disability, especially in older adults, and many patients either cannot have surgery or don't want it. This trial exists because doctors need better pain relief options for people whose arthritis pain doesn't improve with standard therapies — offering an alternative that is less invasive than surgery.
