What participation looks like

You will spend about 3 hours in the hospital ICU. The study starts with a baseline measurement while you breathe on your own with regular oxygen. Then you'll try the high-flow nasal cannula for up to 30 minutes at two different flow rates (which one you prefer and one set amount), with brief rest periods between. You'll also try the non-invasive ventilation mask for up to 30 minutes. Doctors will measure your oxygen levels and take other measurements throughout to see how each method is working for you.
