Testing a new ultrasound technique to diagnose heart stiffness in older adults

This trial is testing a new ultrasound imaging technology called ShearWave Imaging that measures stiffness in your heart muscle. The study aims to see if this noninvasive method can more accurately diagnose a type of heart failure common in older adults, where the heart muscle becomes stiff and cannot relax properly—even though the pumping function may seem normal.

Currently, diagnosing this type of heart failure is difficult and relies on indirect methods. This new ultrasound technique directly measures heart muscle stiffness, which is the root cause of the problem, potentially making diagnosis faster, more accurate, and less dependent on other factors.
