Surgery vs. implant for wrist arthritis pain relief

This trial compares two surgical treatments for osteoarthritis affecting the small joint where your forearm bones connect at the wrist. One approach removes the damaged bone (called the Darrach procedure), while the other replaces it with an implant called the Herbert Ulnar Head Prosthesis. Researchers want to find out which method works better and causes fewer complications.

Wrist arthritis can cause significant pain and weakness, making it hard to lift and rotate your forearm. While both surgical approaches have shown good results individually, they've never been directly compared in a research study, so doctors don't yet know which one gives patients the best outcome with the fewest problems.
