Building a database of lung fibrosis patients in Korea

This is a registry study — essentially a research database — that collects medical information from people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (a progressive lung condition where lung tissue becomes scarred over time). Doctors from 30 hospitals across Korea are gathering information about patients' symptoms, lung function tests, blood work, chest scans, and medical histories. This shared information will help researchers understand the disease better and develop better treatments.

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a serious condition that affects many people, but doctors still have a lot to learn about how it progresses and who responds best to different treatments. By collecting detailed information from a large group of Korean patients in one place, researchers hope to find patterns that will improve diagnosis, treatment, and care.
