Two surgical techniques for recurrent nasopharyngeal cancer

This trial is testing whether a newer surgical technique called plasma radiofrequency ablation at low temperature works better than a standard surgical method (electrocautery block resection) for treating nasopharyngeal cancer that has returned. Nasopharyngeal cancer is cancer in the space behind your nose. You would be randomly assigned to receive one of these two surgical treatments to remove the recurrent cancer.

When nasopharyngeal cancer comes back after initial radiation therapy, surgery is often needed. Doctors want to find out if the newer plasma radiofrequency technique offers patients better survival rates and quality of life compared to the traditional surgical approach.
