Testing Radioactive Seeds for Skin and Soft Tissue Cancers

This trial is testing a new treatment called DaRT (Diffusing Alpha Emitters Radiation Therapy) that uses tiny radioactive seeds implanted directly into tumors on or near your skin. Unlike traditional radiation therapy that beams radiation from outside your body, these seeds deliver radiation from inside the tumor itself. Researchers want to see whether this approach can safely shrink cancers while causing fewer side effects.

Many patients with skin cancers, mouth tumors, or superficial soft tissue cancers either don't respond to standard treatments, can't tolerate surgery or radiation, or choose to refuse those options. This trial exists to see if this new treatment can offer another effective choice for people in those situations.
