Building a Swiss registry of childhood inflammatory brain diseases

This is a registry study — a nationwide database — that gathers medical information from children and young adults in Switzerland who have been diagnosed with inflammatory brain diseases affecting the brain and spinal cord. The study aims to collect details about symptoms, diagnoses, treatments, and long-term outcomes to help doctors better understand and care for these conditions.

These inflammatory brain diseases are serious conditions that can affect children during critical periods of brain development, potentially leading to learning problems and neurological difficulties. Right now, Switzerland lacks good data on how common these diseases are, how they're best treated, and what outcomes children have — this study aims to fill that gap and improve care.
