How Eye Drop Medications Affect the Eye's Surface

This trial is testing whether tafluprost, a preservative-free eye drop medication, causes fewer problems on the eye's surface compared to two versions of latanoprost (one with preservative, one without). Researchers want to understand how these common glaucoma medications affect the eye's surface over time and what signs of inflammation develop with long-term use.

Eye drop medications used to treat glaucoma and high eye pressure are very effective at lowering pressure in the eye, but the preservatives in some formulations can irritate the eye's surface and cause inflammation, redness, and discomfort over months or years. This trial aims to compare which medication option causes the least damage to the eye's surface.
