After you finish your standard radiation and chemotherapy, you will be randomly assigned to one of two groups. One group will take the chemotherapy pill twice daily by mouth and receive an immune-boosting injection every three weeks for one year; the other group will take only the chemotherapy pill twice daily for one year. You will need to visit the clinic regularly for blood tests, health checks, and to receive your injections (if assigned to that group), beginning about 4 to 6 weeks after your radiation ends.
