Understanding melanoma diagnosis and outcomes through tissue and blood samples

BioMEL is a research study collecting tissue biopsies, blood samples, and health questionnaires from patients with suspicious skin lesions or melanoma. The goal is to identify new ways to diagnose melanoma more accurately and predict how the disease will progress, so that doctors can catch it earlier and treat it more effectively.

Many skin lesions look suspicious but turn out to be harmless, while some melanomas can be hard to spot. This trial is trying to find biological markers and patterns that will help doctors tell the difference and better predict which patients are at highest risk.
