Building a database of children with hard-to-treat liver cancer

This is a research registry — a database that collects information from patients with relapsed or refractory hepatoblastoma (a type of liver cancer that has come back or stopped responding to treatment). The study gathers medical records, imaging scans, lab results, and tumor tissue samples from all patients enrolled to help researchers better understand why some children's cancers return or resist treatment, and to develop better therapies in the future.

Hepatoblastoma that returns or stops responding to standard treatment is very difficult to manage, and doctors need better ways to predict which treatments will work for each child. By collecting detailed information and tissue samples from many patients in one place, researchers can study what makes these cancers stubborn and test new approaches to fight them.
