Do you qualify?

You likely qualify if…

you are at least 18 years old (if you have HIV) or at least 50 years old (if you are a healthy volunteer)
you have been diagnosed with HIV and have an undetectable viral load for at least the past 90 days
you have been on a stable HIV treatment regimen for at least 6 months, or are an elite controller maintaining undetectable levels without treatment
you have no active or uncontrolled opportunistic infections
you are able to use contraception if you are of childbearing age and sexually active

you have received the Shingrix vaccine previously
you received the older Zostavax shingles vaccine within the past 12 months
you have a severe allergy to any component of the vaccine
you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have had a recent chickenpox or shingles episode within the past month
you have received any other investigational vaccine or live virus vaccine in the past 30 days

What participation looks like

You will receive two vaccine injections, given about 2 months apart. You'll have blood drawn before each injection and again at 3 months and 12 months after your first dose to measure your immune response. The study also includes physical exams and safety assessments to monitor for any side effects. In total, you'll be followed for 12 months.
