Study of fast-track radiation therapy for breast cancer patients in Brazil

This is a research study that examines medical records from breast cancer patients treated at hospitals across Brazil. The study focuses on a type of radiation therapy called extreme hypofractionation—a newer approach that delivers radiation in just 5 treatments instead of the traditional 25–30 treatments. Researchers want to understand how well this faster treatment works and what side effects patients experience.

Standard radiation therapy for breast cancer takes several weeks, which can be difficult for patients to manage. This study exists to learn whether this newer, much faster radiation approach is safe and effective, so doctors can offer patients a better option that requires fewer clinic visits.
