Simple breath test to detect colorectal cancer

Researchers are testing a new breath test that can detect colorectal cancer by analyzing chemicals in your breath. The test showed very promising results in an earlier study, correctly identifying cancer in 83% of patients who had it. Now this larger study will confirm whether the breath test works reliably across different hospitals and clinics, and whether combining it with a stool-based test improves accuracy.

Colorectal cancer is serious, but catching it early saves lives. Current screening methods can be uncomfortable or inconvenient. This trial exists to see if a simple, non-invasive breath test could become an easier way for doctors to detect cancer in patients who have symptoms.
