Remote therapy training for parents of toddlers with autism

This trial is testing the STAR (Strategies for Toddler ASD With Remote-therapy) model, a new way to help toddlers with autism through parent coaching delivered online. Instead of requiring families to visit a clinic frequently, the STAR model teaches parents intervention techniques they can use at home during everyday activities with their child. The goal is to make early autism treatment more accessible and affordable, especially for families who have difficulty reaching traditional therapy centers.

Early intervention is proven to help children with autism develop better communication and social skills, but traditional therapy programs are expensive, require frequent in-person visits, and are hard to access—especially during times like the COVID-19 pandemic. This trial was designed to create a more practical solution that brings expert guidance directly into families' homes through online parent coaching.
