Understanding Family Priorities for Children's Mental Health Care

Researchers at Oregon Health and Science University want to understand what matters most to Black and Hispanic families when it comes to their children's attention and emotional health. This study uses focus groups—conversations with groups of parents—to learn about your priorities and any barriers you've experienced in participating in research. Your feedback will help shape a future study testing whether certain nutrients might help children with attention and emotional regulation problems.

Many research studies don't adequately include diverse communities, and researchers may not fully understand the real barriers that prevent Black and Hispanic families from participating. By listening directly to parents' experiences and priorities, researchers can design better, more inclusive studies that actually meet families' needs.
