Understanding barriers to liver transplant evaluation across different patient groups

This study is trying to understand why some patients with end-stage liver disease have different experiences when trying to get a liver transplant. Researchers will ask you to fill out questionnaires about your background, emotions, and experiences with the transplant evaluation process. The goal is to identify what personal factors and healthcare system barriers might affect who gets evaluated for and listed for transplant.

Even though liver transplants save lives, researchers have noticed that patients from different racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds sometimes have very different experiences during evaluation. This study exists to uncover those differences so the healthcare system can become fairer for all patients who need transplants.
