Help for families after a child's asthma hospital stay

This trial is testing whether a trained asthma navigator — someone who works with your family for a full year after your child leaves the hospital — can help improve your child's asthma care and prevent future hospital visits. Half of families will receive the usual care after discharge, and the other half will get that same care plus extra support from an asthma navigator who helps coordinate care with your doctor, school, and home.

Many families struggle to manage their child's asthma after leaving the hospital, and these gaps in care can lead to another emergency visit. This trial is testing whether having a trained navigator guide families through this transition can reduce these problems and help families, especially those facing barriers to care.
