This study doesn't follow the usual testing phases โ it may be an observational study or a different type of research.
When your heart stops beating outside a hospital, doctors work quickly to restart it using CPR and other techniques. This trial is testing whether adding a procedure called REBOA โ which uses a small balloon inserted into a major artery to help direct blood flow to vital organs โ can improve survival when combined with standard heart-restart care. Researchers want to know if this extra step gives patients a better chance of surviving cardiac arrest.
Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest is life-threatening, and current treatments, while important, don't save everyone. This study exists to see whether this newer balloon technique can work alongside standard care to help more people survive and recover.

If you qualify and agree to participate, you will be randomly assigned to either receive standard heart-restart care or standard care plus the balloon procedure. In both cases, doctors will use ultrasound to guide a small tube into an artery in your groin to monitor or deliver the treatment. If you're in the balloon group, a catheter with an inflatable balloon will be inserted to help support blood flow to your heart and brain. If your heart restarts, the balloon is slowly deflated, and you'll receive follow-up cardiac care according to current medical guidelines.
