This study doesn't follow the usual testing phases โ it may be an observational study or a different type of research.
After cardiac arrest, patients typically stay sedated in the intensive care unit (ICU) with cooling treatment and breathing support for at least 24โ48 hours. This study is testing whether patients who show good brain activity on an early brain scan (called an EEG) can safely stop their sedation and cooling treatment much sooner. The researchers want to see if this shortened approach is both safe and feasible for this specific group of patients.
Right now, all cardiac arrest patients receive the same long sedation and cooling treatment, even though some patients show signs of recovering very quickly. This study exists to find out whether patients with good early brain activity actually need all this treatment, or whether stopping it early could be safer and help them wake up sooner.

You will be randomly assigned to either the early stopping group or the standard care group. If you are in the early stopping group, your sedation and cooling treatment will be stopped as soon as your EEG shows good brain activity (within the first 12 hours), and you will be gradually weaned off the breathing machine. If you are in the standard care group, you will receive the usual treatment with sedation and cooling for at least 24โ48 hours. Either way, your brain activity, vital signs, and recovery will be closely monitored throughout your ICU stay and you will be followed up to track your outcome.
