Comparing three methods to enlarge the liver before cancer surgery

This trial is testing three different methods to help patients with liver cancer or liver tumors by making the remaining liver larger and stronger before surgery. Some patients don't qualify for surgery because the part of the liver left behind after removing tumors would be too small. This study compares three approaches—including interventional radiology procedures and a surgical technique—to see which one best prepares patients for successful cancer removal.

Doctors know these three methods can help enlarge the remaining liver, but no one has directly compared them in a rigorous study to see which one is safest and most effective. Most importantly, previous research focused only on liver size, not actual liver function—but function is what truly matters for patient survival and recovery.
