Teaching doctors how to talk with patients about colon cancer screening

This study is testing whether special training can help doctors have better conversations with patients about colorectal cancer screening. Right now, many people skip this important screening test because they feel uncomfortable or unsure about it, and doctors sometimes aren't sure how to talk about it either. Researchers want to see if teaching doctors a patient-centered approach—listening carefully, understanding concerns, and making decisions together—can increase screening rates and catch colorectal cancer earlier.

Colorectal cancer screening saves lives, but fewer people are getting screened in France than needed to reduce deaths from this disease. Many patients feel nervous about the screening process, and doctors sometimes struggle with how to talk about it in a way that feels right for each person. This study exists to find out if better communication training can help more patients say yes to screening.
