Stopping a blood pressure medication safely during pregnancy

This trial is testing whether pregnant women who are taking Aspirin to prevent a serious condition called preeclampsia can safely stop the medication around 24–28 weeks of pregnancy. The study compares two groups: one group continues Aspirin until 36 weeks (current practice), and another group stops the medication at 24–28 weeks if their blood work looks good. Researchers want to learn if stopping early is safe and might reduce unnecessary medication exposure.

Preeclampsia is a dangerous pregnancy condition that causes high blood pressure and can harm both mother and baby. Aspirin is given to high-risk pregnant women to help prevent it, but doctors aren't sure if women can safely stop taking this medication partway through pregnancy if their blood work shows they're at lower risk later on.
