You will be assigned to one of three groups: palate surgery alone, throat exercises alone, or palate surgery combined with throat exercises. If you receive exercises, you'll do three 30-minute sessions per day, 3–5 days per week for 3 months, mostly at home using a special device that tracks your practice. You'll also have clinic visits twice weekly to adjust your program. Everyone will have breathing tests, tongue strength measurements, and imaging scans at the start, 3 months, and 6 months.
