Daily Eye Training to Improve Vision After Stroke

After a stroke damages the part of the brain that controls vision, people often lose sight in part of their visual field. This study is testing whether intensive daily eye training exercises — practiced at home on a computer — can help the brain rewire itself and restore some of that lost vision. Researchers will measure how well the training works and how the brain adapts to recover sight.

Most people who lose vision from a stroke are told the loss is permanent, but the brain may have hidden ability to recover if given the right training. This trial aims to understand whether intensive visual retraining can actually reverse vision loss and discover how the brain heals itself.
