Testing a fish oil medication for children with liver problems from feeding tubes

This trial is testing Omegaven, a fish oil-based medication given intravenously, to see if it is safe for children whose livers have been damaged by long-term intravenous feeding. Children in this study have a condition where their liver develops problems because they cannot eat or digest food normally and must receive nutrition through an IV line instead. The study will watch for any signs that the medication causes problems, especially whether it leads to a lack of essential fatty acids in the body.
