Understanding Muscle Loss in Chronic Lung Disease Patients

This study is looking at sarcopenia — a condition where people lose muscle mass and strength — in patients who have chronic lung diseases such as COPD, asthma, or interstitial lung disease. Researchers want to understand how often this happens and how it affects people's daily lives and health care needs. The study will use simple strength tests, walking tests, and body composition scans to identify who has muscle loss and how severe it is.

Many people with chronic lung diseases struggle not just with their lungs, but also with losing muscle and becoming weaker. This trial exists to understand how common muscle loss is in this group and what it means for their overall health and ability to function day-to-day.
