Testing methods to diagnose a specific type of heart failure

This research study is testing different diagnostic methods to help doctors more accurately identify a specific type of heart failure called heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). People with this condition often feel short of breath during physical activity, but it can be hard to diagnose. The study will compare several testing approaches—some involving exercise and heart monitoring—to find the best way to confirm this diagnosis.

Diagnosing this type of heart failure is challenging because symptoms overlap with many other conditions, especially in older adults with multiple health issues. Current diagnostic methods don't always work well, and researchers want to find better, standardized testing approaches that work for patients in Europe, not just the United States.
