Imaging scans to predict how gastric cancer responds to treatment

This trial is testing whether two special imaging scans — one that shows how active cancer cells are, and another that shows a protein found in cancer-supporting tissue — can better predict how well your gastric cancer will respond to chemotherapy before surgery. Researchers will compare these two imaging approaches to see which one (or if using them together) is most helpful in understanding whether the treatment is working.

Doctors currently use standard imaging to see if chemotherapy is shrinking gastric cancer before surgery, but these scans don't always accurately predict which patients will have the best outcomes. This trial exists to find better imaging tools that can help doctors understand early on whether your treatment is working well, so they can make the best decisions about your care.
