Understanding Heart Disease From Protein Buildup in Thailand

This is a research registry — a long-term study that collects information from patients diagnosed with transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy, a rare condition where abnormal proteins build up in the heart and weaken its function. Researchers in Thailand want to understand how this disease appears, progresses, and affects people differently, so they can eventually develop better ways to catch it early and treat it.

This disease is not well understood in Thailand, and doctors outside of cardiology often miss it. Now that new treatments are available, researchers need better information about who gets this disease and how it develops so they can create screening programs and help more patients get diagnosed and treated earlier.
