Understanding kidney function changes after lung surgery

Researchers want to understand why some patients experience a temporary decline in kidney function after undergoing minimally invasive lung surgery (called VATS) to treat lung cancer. By carefully monitoring blood tests, urine output, and heart function during and after surgery, this study will help doctors identify which patients are at higher risk and how to better protect kidney function during these procedures.

Kidney injury can sometimes occur after major surgery, but doctors don't yet fully understand which patients are most vulnerable or what surgical factors contribute to this risk. This study aims to fill that gap so future patients can receive better preventive care.
