Testing a plant-based compound to reduce pain after shoulder surgery

This trial is testing Epidiolex, a purified form of cannabidiol (CBD), to see whether it can help reduce pain after rotator cuff repair surgery. You would take the medication (or a placebo) twice daily for two weeks after your surgery, while also receiving your normal pain management care. The researchers want to understand whether this treatment can improve how you feel during recovery.

After shoulder surgery, many patients experience significant pain that can make recovery harder and slower. Standard pain medications don't work well enough for everyone, so doctors are exploring whether this medication might be a helpful additional tool for managing post-surgical pain.
