Online training to reduce HIV-related stigma among nursing students

This trial is testing a new online training program designed to reduce stigma and negative attitudes that nursing students may hold toward people living with HIV. The training includes simulated interactions with patients living with HIV, aiming to help future nurses provide more compassionate, respectful care. Some students will receive this stigma-focused training, while others will receive standard HIV education without specific focus on stigma reduction.

In Iran, HIV-related stigma is a major barrier preventing people from getting tested and treated for HIV. Research shows that nurses and other healthcare providers often have limited experience caring for people with HIV and receive no training on reducing stigma, which can lead to discriminatory behaviors. This trial aims to develop and test a training program that could help break down these barriers and improve care for people living with HIV.
