Plain-English translation of NCT06529965 on ClinicalTrials.gov ↗ ·
This study doesn't follow the usual testing phases — it may be an observational study or a different type of research.
This study is testing a digital app called covivio to help adults with type 2 diabetes who feel emotional distress about their condition. The app uses proven strategies from therapy to help you learn about diabetes, improve physical activity and nutrition, manage stress and sleep, and connect with support. Researchers want to see if using this app alongside your regular diabetes care makes you feel better emotionally and helps control your blood sugar.
Many people with type 2 diabetes struggle with emotional stress and worry about their condition, which can make managing diabetes harder. This trial exists to test whether a digital tool can help ease that emotional burden and improve both mood and blood sugar control.

You will be randomly placed into one of two groups. If you are in the treatment group, you will get access to the covivio app for 6 months in addition to your regular diabetes care. The app includes interactive lessons, worksheets, audio recordings, and motivational messages on topics like nutrition, exercise, stress, and sleep. You will be asked to complete short check-in surveys. If you are in the comparison group, you will continue with your regular care as usual. All participants will wear a glucose sensor for a week at the start and again at 6 months to measure blood sugar control.
