Ultrasound-guided nerve block injections for neck and shoulder muscle pain

This trial is looking back at medical records from patients who received a special type of injection called a serratus posterior superior intercostal plane block, guided by ultrasound imaging, to treat muscle pain in the neck and upper back. The researchers want to understand how well this injection works at reducing pain and improving daily function in people with myofascial pain syndrome, a condition where trigger points (tight, sensitive spots in muscles) cause pain and stiffness.

Myofascial pain syndrome affects many people and can make it hard to move and work. While needle-based treatments like injections are thought to be helpful, doctors need better evidence about which specific injection techniques work best. This study aims to provide that evidence by reviewing real patient outcomes from a particular injection method.
