Robot surgery with heat ablation to remove early kidney cancer while preserving kidney function

This trial is testing a new surgical technique for removing early-stage kidney cancer using robot-assisted surgery combined with microwave ablation (using heat to destroy tumors) and a suture-less approach. The goal is to remove the cancer while protecting the healthy kidney tissue and preserving your kidney function better than traditional surgery might. Researchers want to see if this newer combination approach works as well or better than standard robot-assisted kidney surgery.

When kidney cancer is caught early, doctors can often remove just the tumor rather than the whole kidney. However, protecting kidney function during surgery is challenging. This trial exists to test whether the new treatment — combining heat ablation with robot-assisted surgery — can remove cancer more effectively while keeping more of your healthy kidney working.
