Lung Cancer Screening for People With Unexplained Weight Loss

This research study is testing whether unexplained weight loss is a warning sign that someone might develop lung cancer, and whether blood tests can help detect lung cancer earlier. All participants will receive annual low-dose CT scans of the lungs—a type of imaging that uses very small amounts of radiation to take detailed pictures—and will have blood samples collected to look for cancer markers.

Lung cancer is often found late, when it's harder to treat. Researchers want to understand if unexplained weight loss could be an early warning sign that helps catch lung cancer sooner, when treatment is more likely to work.
