Improving colorectal cancer screening follow-up in underserved communities

This is a research study designed to understand the barriers that prevent people from completing colorectal cancer screening, especially the follow-up colonoscopy after an initial positive screening test. Researchers will talk with patients and staff at Codman Square Health Center in Boston to learn what makes screening harder or easier, and then test new approaches to help more people get the care they need.

Colorectal cancer screening rates are much lower in certain communities, and even when people have a positive screening test, many don't complete the necessary follow-up colonoscopy. This study aims to understand why these gaps exist and find better ways to support people through the entire screening process.
