How well does a new medication work for severe bowel inflammation?

This is a real-world study of risankizumab, an already-approved medication for ulcerative colitis. Researchers want to see how well this treatment works for about 200 adults with moderate to severe disease at hospitals and clinics in Germany and Austria. You'll simply continue taking the medication as your doctor prescribes it while the study team monitors how you're doing.

Ulcerative colitis causes painful inflammation and bleeding in the colon, and while this medication is approved, doctors want to understand how well it actually helps patients in everyday clinical practice — not just in controlled research settings.
