This study doesn't follow the usual testing phases — it may be an observational study or a different type of research.
Burns are painful traumatic injuries that often affect people's physical recovery and mental health. This trial is testing whether using virtual reality exercise games—like interactive fitness programs you control with your body movements—can help people who have suffered serious lower-leg burns regain their balance and stability while also reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety. Half the participants will do virtual reality exercises plus standard physical therapy, while the other half will receive physical therapy alone.
After a serious burn, many patients struggle not only with physical recovery but also with depression and anxiety, which can slow down their healing and quality of life. This study exists to see whether the engaging, interactive nature of virtual reality exercise games might help people stay motivated with their recovery while improving both their physical balance and their mental health at the same time.

If you join this study, you will come to the clinic 3 times a week for 12 weeks (about 3 months). Half of participants will play interactive virtual reality exercise games on a special fitness device (like Wii Fit) for 30 minutes, plus do standard physical therapy exercises for 60 minutes. The other half will do standard physical therapy alone for 60 minutes per session. You'll also complete questionnaires about your mood, anxiety, and balance at the beginning and end of the study.
