What is this trial?

This study is looking at brain fog, memory problems, mood changes, and psychiatric symptoms that can happen in people taking targeted therapies like brigatinib, alectinib, or lorlatinib for a specific type of lung cancer (ALK/ROS1-positive). These side effects are not well understood yet, even though they seem to happen fairly often and can be serious. Researchers want to carefully document what patients experience and how it affects their quality of life.

Current cancer treatment programs don't pay enough attention to these brain and mood side effects, which means doctors may not recognize or treat them properly. This study exists to understand how common these problems are, what they feel like for patients, and what impact they have on everyday living—so that future care can be better tailored to these needs.

Do you qualify?

You likely qualify if…

you are 18 years old or older and fluent in French
you are currently being treated with targeted therapy for ALK/ROS1-positive lung cancer
you have noticed changes in your thinking, memory, mood, or emotions since starting your cancer treatment
your doctor has identified that you may be experiencing cognitive or psychiatric symptoms related to your treatment

You likely don't qualify if…

you had memory problems, mood disorders, or psychiatric symptoms before you started your current cancer medication
you have untreated brain metastases or active meningitis requiring ongoing steroid treatment
you do not speak French well enough to complete questionnaires and interviews
you have unstable medical conditions like uncontrolled seizures, active psychosis, or severe infections that could interfere with the study
you currently use substances (drugs or alcohol) that could affect your thinking and memory

What participation looks like

You would meet with a research team for neuropsychological and psychiatric assessments, including formal testing of your memory and thinking abilities, along with interviews about your mood and overall well-being. You may also complete questionnaires about how your symptoms affect your daily life and quality of life. The study involves working collaboratively with researchers and healthcare providers to document your experiences and help improve future care for patients in similar situations.
