This study doesn't follow the usual testing phases — it may be an observational study or a different type of research.
This study is testing whether a simple but supportive conversation about your birth experience — called 'debriefing' — can help protect your mental health after giving birth. Researchers want to see if talking through what happened during labor and delivery, with a trained provider, can reduce the risk of postpartum depression, anxiety about future pregnancies, and feelings of birth-related trauma.
Many women struggle with their mental health after giving birth, experiencing depression, anxiety, or distressing memories about labor. This trial explores whether giving women a structured opportunity to process and understand their birth experience in the early weeks after delivery might help prevent or reduce these common emotional challenges.

If you join the study, you'll be randomly assigned to either receive the debriefing sessions or routine care. If you're in the debriefing group, you'll have one 40-minute conversation with a researcher face-to-face within 24 hours after birth, and a second 40-minute phone conversation 4–6 weeks later. The control group receives only standard postpartum care. Either way, the study tracks your well-being over about 6–8 weeks after birth.
