Testing a pain questionnaire for people with chronic musculoskeletal pain

Researchers are testing a questionnaire called the Central Aspects of Pain (CAP) Questionnaire to see if it works well in Turkish and accurately measures how pain affects people with musculoskeletal conditions. This questionnaire is designed to capture not just physical pain, but also how chronic pain affects mood, sleep, thinking, and anxiety—aspects that standard pain measurements often miss.

Many people with chronic pain conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia continue to hurt even when their disease is well-managed, because pain involves not just physical damage but also how the nervous system processes pain signals. This questionnaire aims to measure these nervous system aspects of pain, which could help doctors better understand and treat chronic pain in their patients.
