Regular heart imaging to track plaque buildup in early heart disease

This study compares two approaches to caring for people who have early-stage coronary artery disease (partial narrowing of heart arteries). Half of the participants will receive regular heart imaging scans called coronary CTA along with standard care, while the other half will receive standard care alone. Researchers want to see whether the additional imaging scans help doctors better control cholesterol levels and prevent heart attacks or strokes over three years.

Many people have partial blockages in their heart arteries that don't yet cause symptoms, but they remain at risk for serious heart events. Doctors don't have clear guidelines for managing these patients, and it's unclear whether regular imaging scans would help catch dangerous changes early and guide better treatment decisions.
